
Porto Tech Hub launches podcast to celebrate 10 years of activity
Technology association celebrates tenth anniversary this year

“This year, we celebrate a decade of connecting the city of Porto, positioning it nationally and internationally, promoting synergies between the community, academia, companies and talent, always with the mission of making Porto a technological center of excellence at a global level,” says Luís Silva, president of Porto Tech Hub. “This podcast was created to mark this milestone and to share knowledge about areas relevant to Porto’s technological ecosystem with a wider audience,” he says.
In the first episode of this podcast, “The Genesis of Porto Tech Hub”, Paula Gomes da Costa, Managing Director of Körber Porto and Ricardo Valente, Head of Porto at Savills Portugal, join Luís Silva for a conversation about the origin of the association and the consequent development of Porto over the last ten years, taking stock of the city’s position as a relevant hub for the technology community.
The content is already available on Spotify,on Porto Tech Hub’s YouTube channel, and on Apple Podcasts, where the episodes of this series will be published monthly. The format is presented by the president of Porto Tech Hub, who invites different personalities to highlight the associated companies that have contributed to Porto’s growth over the last decade. Throughout this series, the speakers will focus on current issues that continue to shape the technology sector, such as the role of leadership and happiness in organizations, the future of programming, as well as the potential and future of the city of Porto. The podcast is aimed not only at professionals in the sector, but also at the general public, who will be able to follow these issues in a clear and accessible way.
This season, we can also count on Alexandra Monteiro, Head of People at Cocus and Vânia Gonçalves, founder of Geek Girls for a conversation about the role of women in the world of technology; with João Maia, Chief Operating Officer of Fabamaq and Rui Barbosa, co-founder and Website Manager at Codigree for an episode on the future of technology, and also with João Belfo, Country Head of Portugal at Intellias and Teresa Carreiro, co-founder of Critical Manufacturing, for a debate on the role of resilience and leadership in organizations, among others.
Created in 2015, Porto Tech Hub has more than 40 member companies and is committed to developing the Northern region’s technological ecosystem through initiatives such as SWiTCH, specialization courses in emerging technologies in partnership with the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) and networking events that promote the local business fabric, especially the Porto Tech Hub Conference. This annual event has already been attended by around 6,000 people and more than 100 speakers, bringing the sector together for a day of sharing and materializing Porto Tech Hub’s mission.
