Católica and Porto Tech Hub to collaborate on promoting technological training

Porto Tech Hub and the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto have signed a strategic agreement aimed at boosting talent training, innovation, and sustainable development in the region’s ecosystem.

The cooperation protocol provides for several initiatives, “ranging from the promotion of internships and training programs, to support for students through scholarships and awards, as well as the creation of employment opportunities and the encouragement of joint research projects.”

In addition, the association and the university will collaborate through knowledge transfer centers and the development of new activities that contribute to consolidating the academic and technological ecosystem of the city of Porto.

The partnership also aims to increase youth employability and strengthen the region’s role as a hub for technological innovation.

Luís Silva, president of Porto Tech Hub, explains the agreement: “We believe that cooperation between academia and businesses is a fundamental pillar for consolidating Porto as an internationally renowned technological hub. This partnership is another step in that direction, allowing us not only to strengthen local talent, but also to attract new perspectives and innovative solutions to the sector.”

João Pinto, member of the Executive Committee of the Porto Regional Center of the Catholic University, adds that “the partnership with Porto Tech Hub represents a joint commitment to innovation, talent, and the future of the city. By combining academic knowledge with technological dynamics, we are building solid bridges for a more competitive, collaborative, and sustainable ecosystem.”
