SWitCH Embedded: Porto Tech Hub opens applications for new specialization programme

Applications are now open for SWitCH Embedded, Porto Tech Hub’s advanced specialization program focused on the development of Embedded Computing Systems.

The programme is open to professionals with training in the areas of Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computers, or similar areas, as well as candidates without a university degree but who have relevant training or professional experience.

In a statement, Porto Tech Hub said that the goal is to respond to the growing demand for talent specialized in embedded systems, combining theoretical foundations with a strong practical component.

As Eduardo Sousa, vice president of Porto Tech Hub, points out, “the demand for professionals with skills in embedded systems has been growing, keeping pace with developments in areas such as industry, mobility, and the Internet of Things (IoT).”

“With this course, we want to empower talent to respond to real and current market challenges, bringing training closer to the concrete needs of companies and preparing professionals to work with emerging technologies, such as AI and Machine Learning, which are increasingly present in these systems,” he explains.

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their skills in areas such as advanced programming, including multi-thread, asynchronous, and functional programming; software development for devices such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino; or data distribution and processing technologies in distributed computing.

The course will last two semesters, on an after-work basis, with a maximum of 20 students per class and a weekly workload of 12 hours, divided between online and face-to-face classes.

Applications for the new edition of SWitCH Embedded are open until January 25, with the program starting on February 23.
