What is Leading the Exponential Enterprise?

Leading the Exponential Enterprise: Strategic AI, Digital Transformation, and Organisational Readiness is a 24‑hour executive education programme that empowers leaders to design and implement AI‑driven, sustainable digital transformation with exponential impact. Co‑created by Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) and Porto Tech Hub (PTH), it blends strategic frameworks from Exponential Organizations (ExO) with hands‑on application to a real strategic challenge brought by each participant.

Over three Saturdays, participants work on a “Living Case Study” from their own organisation and leave with a 10‑week ExO Sprint plan that is ready to present to their Board or Executive Committee.

Who is this programme for?

The programme is designed for experienced professionals with strategic responsibilities who must align business, technology, and sustainability:

– C‑Suite Executives looking to align corporate strategy with AI and data capabilities.

– Founders & Entrepreneurs who want to embed “exponential” attributes from day one.

– Directors & Heads of Innovation responsible for digital transformation mandates in established organizations.

Prerequisite: participants should hold a strategically influential or decision‑making role; no coding skills are required.

What will you learn?

Diagnose their organisation’s agility using the Exponential Quotient (ExQ) and benchmark against industry leaders.

Design an “AI Factory” strategy using the ExO Canvas (MTP + SCALE + IDEAS) with explicit AI requirements for each attribute.

Distinguish Core (Horizon 1) and Edge (Horizon 3) initiatives using the Ambidextrous Organisation and Three Horizons models.

Prototype AI solutions for Horizon 3 using low‑code/no‑code tools, simulating the “Disrupt” phase of an ExO Sprint.

Integrate sustainability into AI strategy and navigate the “Green AI Paradox” with a structured decision framework.

Design a 10‑week ExO Sprint plan that bypasses the Corporate Immune System and launches exponential initiatives.

Course Plan

Day 1: Strategic Foundations – MTP, Ecosystem & Diagnosis

Mindset shift from scarcity to abundance, and organisational diagnosis:

ExO framework, 6Ds of exponential growth, and definition of Massive Transformative Purpose (MTP).
Ambidextrous Organisation, Three Horizons, and introduction to the Corporate Immune System.
Workshop on ExQ results and ExO Canvas (current state), plus design of the future “AI Factory” and community.

Day 2: The “Edge” – Innovation, Prototyping & The Green AI Challenge

Building Edge initiatives with AI at the core and explicit sustainability trade‑offs:

Algorithms and experimentation, Lean Startup principles, and AI Readiness Matrix (strategic impact × implementation difficulty).
Rapid prototyping workshop in “Week 6” simulation of an ExO Sprint using no‑code/low‑code AI tools.
Case‑based lunch on the Green AI Paradox and a Disruption Session where a panel acts as the Corporate Immune System and ESG challenger.

Day 3: Leadership – Bridging the Gap & The Sprint Plan

Execution, leadership across horizons, and final sprint design:

Strategies to manage the Corporate Immune System and protect Edge initiatives.
Executive talk on leading across the three horizons and embedding regenerative business principles into exponential leadership.
Capstone session to design the 10‑week ExO Sprint roadmap, with Core vs Edge streams, AI layer, and sustainability checkpoints.
