PTH Academy aims to connect professionals with the tech industry through courses focused on digital skills

PTH Academy’s training programs are designed for professionals who want to launch, reorient, or specialize their careers in technology, as well as for employees of companies seeking to enhance their skills in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

PTH Academy is a new initiative launched by Porto Tech Hub, designed to bridge the gap between professionals and the tech industry through specialized training programs tailored to market needs.

As detailed in a press release, PTH Academy is committed to partnering with educational institutions and working directly with Porto Tech Hub member companies to identify the areas and skills to be developed. The training program includes short- and long-term courses focused on upskilling in various technological fields, as well as graduate programs designed for reskilling.

This training program is designed for professionals who wish to launch, reorient, or specialize their careers in technology, as well as for employees of companies seeking to enhance their skills in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Inês Maia, vice president of Porto Tech Hub and Cluster Head at Critical TechWorks, points out that technological development today requires a more comprehensive approach than in the past, highlighting the growing impact of AI across various areas of technology: “At a time when AI is transforming the way products are created, developed, and maintained, it is essential to prepare professionals to integrate these tools into the various stages of the technology lifecycle: from software development to product strategy and business impact”.

According to Porto Tech Hub, AI plays a cross-cutting role in the initiative’s training programs to reflect the impact of technology in areas such as software development, product strategy, user experience, and business management.

PTH Academy is organized into three main areas: Software Development, Product and Experience, and Business and Management. The planned specializations include fields such as front-end and back-end development, AI, data science, cybersecurity, embedded systems, and UX/UI.

The Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, the Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design, and the Católica Porto Business School are among the partner organizations, which also include associations such as Porto.UX, Banco Santander, and more than 40 affiliated technology companies.
